Before lessons commence, I like to meet students as it gives us a chance to get to know each other a little and helps to put your child at ease. If your child has a piano book it may be helpful for them to bring it with them but is not necessary. We can look at a range of books when we meet and decide on the best one for your child.
Lesson times are tailored individually, 30 minutes is advisable for young beginners and 45 minutes to one hour for older beginers/more advanced student. There may be occasions where a student would benefit from 2 half hour lessons weekly.
Lessons take place weekly on a set day and time in my home at 10 Ammanford, Caversham, Reading, RG4 7XN. Parking in Ammanford is limited, therefore I kindly request you park on Hunter’s Chase which is a very short walk.
Lessons are tailored to the individual child and will cover playing techniques, aural training, sight reading and theory. All of these elements are an important part of learning music and are essential if students wish to sit piano grade exams. By tackling a little each week, this will help to prepare the student at a comfortable pace and avoiding last minute ‘panic’s, should they decide they would like to take an exam.
